The growth of Pinterest was very sudden and is one of the surprises in the Technology Industry for 2012. Pinterest grew its audience from 2.5 million people to 25 million between 2011 and 2012. By the end of the year, Nielsen ranked Pinterest as the sixth most popular social network, with 27.2 million unique U.S. visitors.
